DSLBD offers an online wizard that helps businesses determine whether they meet the local requirements for the CBE program. The wizard also generates a list of documents that will be required during the application process.
Gather Required Documentation
Key documents typically include proof of DC business registration, proof of principal office location in DC, ownership documentation, financial statements, tax returns, and proof of DC residency for the principal owner or owners.
Submit the Online Application
The CBE application is submitted online through the DSLBD portal. The application must include all required checklist items uploaded with the submission.
Timeline: Approximately 45 Business Days
DSLBD reviews applications within approximately 45 business days. If an application is denied, the applicant receives information explaining the issue and has the opportunity to submit an appeal. Renewal Every Three Years
